  • SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training - Local Classes offered

    It's time once again for spotter training! As always, the National Weather Service provides training in storm recognition and reporting procedures, so that you can be our eyes and ears in the field. Be sure to attend and help us protect your family and your community!
    Here are the upcoming classes for 2017, more will be added as they become scheduled:
    As a reminder, if you have an amateur radio or civic type group that wants to hold a spotter talk you can work with the Emergency Manager for your county, or you can contact John Sikora, john.sikora@noaa.gov or Jamie Bielinski, Jamie, to set up a class.

    Kanawha County:  February 27, 2017 - 6pm. @ All Nations Revival Center, 325 Academy Dr, Dunbar, WV 25064

    Doddridge and Ritchie Feb. 28, 2017 - 7pm. @ EMA 911 Center, Pennsboro, WV  

    Putnam County: March 13, 2017 - 7pm. @ WV Ham Radio Club CAMC Teays Valley Hospital 

    Lawrence KY: March 14, 2017 - 6pm,. @ Lawrence Co. EMA

    Mason County: March 15, 2017 - 5:30pm @ Mason County EMA

    Jackson and Vinton OH:  Mar. 21, 2017 - 6:30pm @ Wellston Fire Station 2 
    Raleigh County: March 28, 2017 - 6pm @ Shady Spring Library Flat Top Road,  Shady Spring,  WV

    Beckley:  March 29,2017  - 4pm @ Raleigh County Library,  N. Kanawha St. Beckley, WV
    Athens, OH: April 13, 2017 - 7pm. @ Ohio University -  Walter Hall Room 145


    Raleigh County: May 4, 2017 @ 6pm (tentative date/time) during the Preparedness Fair.
    Cabell County: May 16, 2017 7pm. Amateur Radio Association and Cabell Co Amateur Radio Emergency Service
